Honey granola

    This homemade granola is made with oats, almonds, sultanas, honey and cinnamon for a quick and easy breakfast treat.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 12 

    • 325g porridge oats
    • 200g coarsely chopped almonds
    • 180ml honey
    • 115g butter
    • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
    • 1 pinch salt
    • 150g sultanas

    Method
    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:35min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Lightly grease a baking tray.
    2. Mix oats and almonds in a large bowl.
    3. Combine honey, butter, cinnamon and salt in a saucepan; bring to the boil for 1 minute. Pour honey mixture over oat mixture; toss to coat. Spread onto the prepared baking tray.
    4. Bake in the preheated oven, stirring every 5 minutes, until granola is lightly browned, 15 to 20 minutes. Fold in sultanas and bake for 2 more minutes. Cool and break up into smaller pieces.

    I made this recipe and changed it slightly. I used walnuts and pecans?. I also used chopped craisins instead of the raisins. Baked the granola mixture on two cookie sheets lined with parchment paper. This worked out well and handy as well for transferring to storage container when the granola cooled off.  -  11 May 2017  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
