Heavenly hot chocolate

    Pinches of ginger and cayenne turn hot chocolate into a spicy, indulgent drink that's heavenly on a cold day. Try it topped with a dollop of freshly whipped cream and a dusting of cayenne pepper.

    Serves: 4 

    • 120ml whole milk
    • 45g dark chocolate chips
    • 40g milk chocolate chips
    • 3 pinches ground ginger
    • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

    1. Pour milk into a double boiler over simmering water; heat until milk is steaming and bubbles start to surface, 5 to 6 minutes. Reduce heat to very low. Whisk dark chocolate and milk chocolate chips gradually into the milk until mixture is smooth, 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in ginger and cayenne pepper.
