Ketogenic Hamburger Buns

    Ingredients

    • 3/4 cup Almond Flour or Almond Meal (75g / 2.7oz)
    • 1/4 cup Coconut Flour (30g / 1.05oz)
    • 1/4 cup Flaxseed Meal (37g / 1.3oz)
    • 1/6 cup Psyllium Husk Powder (20g / 0.7oz)
    • 1 tsp Baking Powder (5g / 0.18oz)
    • 1 tsp Onion Powder (2.5g / 0.09oz)
    • Salt to taste (or 1/2 teaspoon)
    • Untoasted Sesame seeds to sprinkle on Buns
    • 3 Egg Whites (do not substitute with liquid egg whites in a carton)
    • 1 Whole Egg
    • 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar (5ml / 0.18oz)
    • 1 Cup Lukewarm Water (235ml / 8oz)

    Method

    1. Add 3/4 cup Almond Flour or Almond Meal (75g / 2.7oz) into a mixing bowl
    2. Add 1/4 cup Coconut Flour (30g / 1.05oz)
    3. Add 1/4 cup Flaxseed Meal (37g / 1.3oz)
    4. Add 1/6 cup Psyllium Husk Powder (20g / 0.7oz)
    5. Add 1 tsp Onion Powder (2.5g / 0.09oz)
    6. 1 tsp Baking Powder (5g / 0.18oz)
    7. Mix all together and add Salt to taste (or 1/2 teaspoon)
    8. Then in a separate mixing bowl, crack 3 Egg Whites
    9. Add 1 Whole Egg
    10. Add 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar (5ml / 0.18oz)
    11. Mix well
    12. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and mix well
    13. Add 1 Cup Lukewarm Water (235ml / 8oz)
    14. Blend with an electric whisk until you get a dough like consistancy
    15. Pre heat oven to 350F / 180C
    16. Dish out your dough into 6 blobs onto a baking tray and shape these blobs into buns
    17. Sprinkle Untoasted Sesame on all of the buns
    18. Bake for 50 mins at 350F / 180C
