Simple spicy houmous

    Cayenne pepper gives this simple houmous recipe an extra kick creating a spicy houmous perfect for dipping.

    Serves: 6 

    • 1 (400g) tin chickpeas, drained
    • 4 tablespoons olive oil
    • 4 tablespoons lime juice
    • 2 tablespoons tahini, or more to taste
    • 1 clove garlic, peeled
    • 1 tablespoon water, or as needed (optional)
    • 1 teaspoon paprika
    • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin

    1. Place chickpeas in a blender; top with olive oil, lime juice, tahini and garlic. Blend mixture until smooth. Add water 1 tablespoon at a time and blend until desired consistency is reached. Add paprika, cayenne pepper and cumin; blend until incorporated.

    This recipe is very, very good as is! This was my first time making my own hummus and really loved it. I will make this again definitely. I will follow the suggestions of the cook related to test the recipe with different canned chickpeas and different amounts of tahini to see the outcomes.
