Microwave butternut squash

    This is a quick and easy recipe for college students or people who don't cook squash very often. Simply cut a butternut squash in half, add butter and maple syrup and microwave until tender. When finished you can scoop it out or quarter the halves and serve as is.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1 buttercup squash, halved and seeded
    • 4 tablespoons maple syrup, or to taste
    • 1 tablespoon butter

    1. Place squash cut side-up on a microwave-safe serving dish. Spread butter into the hollows of the squash. Fill halfway with maple syrup. Microwave until fork-tender, 10 to 15 minutes.

    Suggestion:

    You can use pure maple syrup or brown sugar instead of syrup. Just add about 1 teaspoon or more, depending on your taste.
