Banana, kefir and Brazil nut smoothie

    This unique smoothie recipe blends Brazil nuts, frozen banana and kefir together to give you that needed energy boost! Add cocoa powder for variety.

    • 40g Brazil nuts
    • water as needed
    • 1 frozen banana, cut into small chunks
    • 120ml plain kefir
    • 50g amaranth (optional)
    • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional)
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 teaspoon honey

    1. Pour enough water over Brazil nuts in a bowl to cover by several cms; soak in refrigerator 8 hours to overnight.
    2. Drain Brazil nuts and place them in a blender; add banana, kefir, amaranth (if using), cocoa powder, vanilla extract and honey. Blend mixture until smooth, adding water as needed to reach desired consistency.
