Crispy panko chicken nuggets

    Chicken nuggets made with panko breadcrumbs for a crispier outside. Kids love them and the spices are up to you!

    • 2 eggs
    • 1 dash (optional) chilli sauce (optional)
    • 200g panko (Japanese-style breadcrumbs)
    • 120g wholemeal flour
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 2 teaspoons paprika
    • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
    • 2 teaspoons dried thyme, or more to taste
    • 2 teaspoons dried basil
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 450g skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into strips
    • rapeseed oil for frying

    1. Beat eggs lightly in a bowl; add a dash of chilli sauce. Place panko breadcrumbs and flour in 2 separate bowls.
    2. Add salt, paprika, pepper, thyme, dried basil and garlic powder into panko; mix well.
    3. Coat chicken strips in flour. Dip into beaten eggs and then into panko mixture.
    4. Heat about 5cm of oil in a large pan over medium heat. Fry chicken strips in batches, until golden brown and cooked through, about 3 minutes per side.
