Quick and easy biscuits for all those who have to eat gluten free or want to give baking with wholesome buckwheat flour a try.

Makes: 25 to 30 biscuits
150g caster sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tablespoon unsweeteened cocoa powder
1 pinch ground cloves
220g buckwheat flour

Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Add egg yolks, cocoa and cloves and continue to beat. Add about three quarters of the flour and mix well, then gradually add the rest as needed. The mixture should be easy to shape but not too dry so that the biscuits spread out during baking.
Set aside for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4 and line a baking tray with baking parchment.
Shape into 2cm balls and place them on the baking tray with at least 3cm between them.
Bake in the preheated oven until the surface is cracked and golden brown, about 15 minutes.
