Matcha loaf cake

    This simple and easy loaf cake gets a special flavour and tint from the addition of green tea powder.

    Ingredients
    Makes: 1 loaf cake

    • 180g melted butter
    • 180g caster sugar
    • 3 large eggs
    • 180g plain flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 2 teaspoons matcha powder

    Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Grease a 23x13x8cm loaf tin. Beat butter and sugar in a bowl until creamy. And the eggs one at a time and beat well.
    2. Add flour, baking powder and matcha and mix well till smooth. Tip into the prepared loaf tin.
    3. Bake in the preheated oven till a tester in the centre comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
