Barbecued lamb chops with ginger

    A simple and aromatic dish which can be served as a starter or main course. Also ideal for the barbecue in summer.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
    • 2 tablespoons dried fenugreek leaves
    • 6cm fresh root ginger, finely peeled and minced
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder
    • 3 tablespoons yoghurt
    • 1 lemon, juiced
    • 8 lamb chops
    • salt

    1. In a bowl mix the garlic cloves, fenugreek, ginger, chilli powder, yoghurt and lemon juice.
    2. Prick the chops and coat with marinade mixture. Refrigerate overnight
    3. Remove from the marinade and drain. Cook on the barbecue until the chops are browned on the outside and no longer pink in the centre. Salt to taste.
