Garlic and pepper king prawns

    I started making this Chinese buffet dish at home after the constant disappointment when ordering take away. Such lovely ingredients, ruined by the time they arrived. It's quick and delicious and you can adjust it to your personal taste.

    • 25g butter
    • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped)
    • 1 small chilli, deseeded if you want a milder flavour)
    • 1 small onion, coarsely chopped
    • 1/2 green pepper, cut into wide strips
    • 1/2 red pepper, cut into wide strips
    • 12 to 16 uncooked king prawns


    1. Heat butter in a frying pan on medium heat and add garlic and chilli.
    2. Then add the onions and sweat for about 3 minutes, stirring, before adding the pepper.
    3. Once the vegetables have cooked through add the prawns. Toss in the pan until pink. The prawns should still be firm.


    Add ginger and coriander to your taste.
