These adorable kitty cupcakes are easy to make even if you are not a cake decorating expert. The toppers can be made ahead and wrapped airtight so they are ready when you need them.

12 ready made cupcakes of your choice
1 icing recipe of your choice
250g orange fondant
100g white fondant
1 small piece brown fondant
1 small piece black fondant

Spread the cupcakes with icing.
Thinly roll out the orange fondant. Cut out 12 circles big enough to cover the cupcakes. Thickly roll out the white fondant and cut out 12 small circles using the wide opening of any piping nozzle. Join two of the small circles and place them in the centre of an orange circle. Cut out 24 triangles from the white fondant and set to the side (these will be the ears). Shape a small triangle of brown fondant, brush with water and gently press it onto the fondant above the two white circles.
Shape 24 tiny balls of black fondant for the eyes and several thin ropes for the whiskers. Gently press them in place.
Place the orange circles onto the cupcakes and attach the ears to the top right and left, pointing outwards.
