Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Line a muffin tray with paper cases or have a silicone muffin tray ready.
In a bowl mix flour, baking powder, grated and chopped white chocolate and sugar. In a second bowl stir egg and milk until combined, then add to the flour mix. At the end stir in the butter and mix until just combined. Do not stir too long, otherwise the cupcakes will get a rubbery texture.
Fill the muffin cases to about half with the mixture. Bake in the preheated oven until a skewer comes out clean, about 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool completely.
Meanwhile for the icing, stir together the icing sugar, vanilla sugar and cream cheese until smooth.
To make spiderweb cupcakes, cover the tops with white icing. Then fill a syringe with chocolate syrup and draw a spider web onto the icing. Start in the centre and draw bigger and bigger circles, then use a skewer to draw lines across the circles to create a spiderweb.
To make pumpkin cupcakes, colour the remaining icing orange by mixing in a few drops red and yellow food colouring. Ice the cupcakes and draw the typical pumpkin ridges onto the icing using a skewer. Place a green liquorice comfit on each cupcake for the stem.
