There are so many creative things you can do with watermelon, for example you can carve it like a head of a cute pig and fill it with fruit salad. Neither children nor adults will be able to resist that!

    Serves: 24

    • 1 large oblong watermelon
    • 2 fresh blueberries

    1. Mark a large oval on the long side of the watermelon.
    2. Carefully cut off the marked piece with a large knife. Carve out the watermelon pulp into a bowl and set to the side.
    3. Place the removed piece on a cutting board and cut out a small circle for the nose and two triangles for the ears. To make it easier to insert the toothpicks, poke two holes in the rind where you want to place the nose. Attach the nose with the rind inwards, using two toothpicks. Place a blueberry at the end of each toothpick. Make two holes for the ears and attach them with toothpicks on either side of the head.
    4. Cut out 4 small feet from the removed piece and attach them to the watermelon, poking holes in the rind before and using toothpicks as described. Mix 2 tablespoons icing sugar with a few drops water to make a very thick icing. Stir until smooth. Use icing to glue on the candy eyeballs. Let the icing set before serving. Fill the cavity with diced watermelon or fruit salad of your choice.
