    Fun 'cake' for children!

    Serves: 16 

    • 175g (6 oz) popped popcorn
    • 500g (1 1/4 lb) Smarties
    • 150g (5 oz) peanuts
    • 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 125g (4¼ oz) butter
    • 500g (1 1/4 lb) marshmallows

    Prep:10min  ›  Ready in:10min 

    1. Mix popcorn, Smarties and peanuts in large bowl.
    2. Heat oil, butter and marshmallows in a saucepan until melted. Pour over popcorn and blend together with heavy spoon or hands.
    3. Grease a tube cake tin well. Press mixture lightly into the tin and refrigerate until cool.
    4. To remove cake from tin, put tin in warm water, then turn upside-down until cake comes out.

    Huge proportions! Have just made this and decided to half the recipe - still a huge amount. I'm test running an idea for turning this into a spooky halloween treat. I will post pic on completion (if it's a sucses lol )  -  16 Oct 2011


    Altered ingredient amounts. Good stuff! I ommitted the nuts. Very "pretty" and I also lightly salted the popcorn and maybe next time I will try using hundreds and thousands instead of the chocolates  -  21 Jul 2008
