About this recipe: An easy peasy treacle tart. Use a shop-bought pastry case to make this extra simple.

Ingredients
Serves: 8 

  • 1 (23cm) pastry case
  • 120g dried breadcrumbs
  • 350g golden syrup
  • 60ml double cream
  • finely grated zest of 1 lemon
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Method
Prep:10min  ›  Cook:35min  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. Mix the syrup, breadcrumbs, cream, grated lemon zest and lemon juice together in a bowl.
  2. Pour the mixture into the prepared pastry case.
  3. Bake in a preheated oven at 190 C / Gas 5 for about 35-40 minutes, or until the filling is set.
  4. Leave the tart to cool slightly before serving.
