Easy Nutella® brownies

    This recipe uses chocolate hazelnut spread such as Nutella®, resulting in the most wonderful fudgy, chewy brownies.

    • 400g jar Nutella® or other chocolate hazelnut spread
    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • 125g self-raising flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt

    1. Turn the oven to 175 C / Gas 4. Using a vegetable oil spray, grease a 20cmx20cm baking tin.
    2. Remove the lid and foil circle from the jar of spread. Warm on high for 30 seconds in the microwave; this makes it runnier thus easier to remove from the jar. Spoon into mixing bowl.
    3. Stir the beaten eggs into the mix. Fold the flour and salt. Stir to combine well.
    4. Spoon into prepared baking tin. Bake in the middle of the oven until a toothpick comes out clean, 18 to 20 minutes.


    It's easy to overcook this, so be watchful towards the end of the cooking time. You want to bake this just enough and no more, to achieve the lovely fudgyness. Using a serrated plastic knife (a disposable one is fine) cut into 16 pieces; the plastic knife will cut cleanly, even when the brownies are still warm.
