Barbecued honey pork chops

    2 hours 30 min

These honey and lemon marinated pork chops always go down well! For best results, marinate the chops in the overnight.

    1 person made this

    Serves: 4

    • 350ml lemon juice
    • 350ml honey
    • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
    • 4 pork chops
    • salt and ground black pepper to taste

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Extra time:2hr marinating  ›  Ready in:2hr30min

    1. Mix the lemon juice, honey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic and basil together in a bowl. Pour about half the marinade into a resealable plastic food bag and place the pork chops in the bag. Squeeze out the air, seal the bag, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is best). Refrigerate remaining marinade for basting.
    2. Preheat an outdoor barbecue for medium-high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
    3. Remove the chops from the food bag and discard the used marinade. Sprinkle chops with salt and black pepper. Cook the chops on the barbecue until cooked through, 20 to 25 minutes. Baste frequently with the reserved marinade, being sure to let the mixture cook on the chops.

Love, love, loved this recipe...I cut the pork chops up into cubes and marinated them over night, and then grilled them on skewers with fresh veggies like kabobs!  -  15 Jun 2011  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

This wasn't as flavorful as I would have hoped for the amount of ingredients it used. It took all my honey and almost all my lemon juice; not a cheap recipe! I marinated for about 5 hours. I'd recommend going all day if you have the time.  -  07 Aug 2011  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)

Made this with the grilled soy-sesame asparagus and thai cucmber tomato salad...everything was very delicious. The pork was moist and had a great taste. The recipe made so much marinade we are going to use the rest of it for chicken tonight.  -  30 Jun 2011  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
