About this recipe:This is a very easy and no fail recipe for American-style meatloaf. It won't take long to make at all and it's quite good!
680g beef mince
1 onion, chopped
110g dried breadcrumbs
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
5 tablespoons ketchup

Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4.
In a large bowl, combine the mince, egg, onion, milk and breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper and place in a lightly greased 23x13cm loaf tin, or form into a loaf and place in a lightly greased baking tin.
In a separate small bowl, combine the brown sugar, mustard and ketchup. Mix well and pour over the meatloaf.
Delicious meatloaf, very moist and easy to do. Will definitely be on our menu again. Next time, we shall add herbs to the meat mixture, and also red onion marmalade. We put a splash of Lancashire sauce into the topping mix. Think we'll experiment with different mustards as well. We had new potatoes and a variety of vegetables to go with it.
