Muesli macaroons

    These are the quickest macaroons ever! And you only need three ingredients - or four, if you want to add a chocolate icing.

    Makes: 30 macaroons

    • 2 egg whites
    • 75g caster sugar
    • 150g muesli of your choice
    • dark chocolate (optional), melted

    1. Preheat oven to 160 C / Gas 3. Grease a baking tray.
    2. Beat egg whites till they stand in stiff peak, gradually adding sugar whilst beating. Fold in muesli.
    3. Place small macaroons on the baking tray at some distance from each other so they don't touch when spreading.
    4. Bake till they firm and lightly coloured, about 30 minutes. Let cool on wire racks. If desired, coat with melted chocolate Let chocolate harden before serving.
