My favourite table decorations are made of natural materials that you can eat or recycle afterwards. There is not need to throw out the apples after you have used them as a candle holder for a few hours, you can still use them for apple sauce or apple pie.

Ingredients
Makes: 1 candle holder
- large red apples
- lemon juice
- star shaped biscuit cutter
- small candles
Method

- Wash apples. Place a star shaped biscuit cutter on top exactly in the centre of the apple and push it through the peel. Lift the biscuit cutter.
- Using the tip of a small knife remove the peel of the star shape.
- After you have removed the peel around the apple core cut an opening deep and wide enough to hold the candle.
- Brush the peeled areas with lemon juice right away so they won't turn brown.
- Place a candle in the "holder" and done!
