Used different ingredients. amaretto instead of coffee - 26 Mar 2009

I varied the ingredients after reading the reviews and replaced the coffee with same amount of water and 1 tsp vanilla essence and varied the quantities of the raising agents using 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda and 3 tsp of baking powder. It worked out well, kids loved it, easy cake. Also on making this recipe a 2nd and 3rd time I whisked eggs and wet ingredients before adding to the dry ones and there was a great improvement, cake rose beautifully both times - 02 Jan 2013

Something else. Omit the eggs and add 11/2 cups of cold water and 1 tpsn of vanilla essence - 08 Apr 2009
