    • 40g rolled oats
    • 100g plain flour

    • 60ml buttermilk

    Prep:30min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:40min

    1. Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas mark 6. Grind oats until fine using a blender or food processor.
    2. In a medium bowl, stir together the blended oats, flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt. Rub in the butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the butter lumps are smaller than peas. Stir in the buttermilk and honey to form a stiff dough. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 3mm in thickness. Cut into desired shapes with biscuit cutters. Place biscuits 2 to 3cm apart onto baking trays.
    3. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes in the preheated oven, until edges are lightly browned. Remove from baking trays to cool on wire racks.

Brilliant recipe, quick easy and fun to make with kids. I had no buttermilk so made a substitute by mixing 240ml of milk with 1tbspn of lemon juice. The recipe made 17/18 biscuits and is saved in my fav recipes! - 05 Dec 2013
