Gooey caramel sauce

    A sticky caramel sauce perfect for ice cream, sponge or fruit.

    Serves: 4 

    • 100g light brown sugar
    • 100g butter
    • 100ml cream or milk

    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:20min 

    1. Put the butter and sugar in a saucepan over a low heat until the butter has melted and the sugar is dissolved but not burned. Add the cream or milk and heat until bubbling, stirring continually. Serve warm.

    Thank you so much for this recipe, I've just made a salted caramel sauce and it was awful, followed the recipe to a T and it had a burnt taste of it, so I'm not one to be beaten and gave it another shot only using your recipe and it's perfect, I added a little salt at the end and it tastes amazing! Definitely the recipe I'll be using from now on! x  -  03 Jan 2016


    I've just made this not sure if it's come out ok i used caster sugar it turned out dark brown then goes crunchy is this right  -  17 Feb 2015
