Christmas stollen French toast

    If you happen to have a lot of stollen that is beginning to go stale - try using it to make French toast over the Christmas holidays! Sprinkle the toast with some icing sugar before serving for a more festive look, if you like.

    • 1 large egg
    • 150ml milk
    • pinch of cinnamon
    • 6 small slices Christmas stollen
    • 2 tablespoons butter, for frying

    1. Beat the egg, milk and cinnamon together in a shallow dish until well combined. Soak bread slices in the egg mixture until saturated.
    2. Melt butter in a pan and fry the slices of stollen on both sides until golden, about a few minutes per side.
