French toast with panettone

    If you have panettone left over, even if it's a little dried out, it makes a good French toast.

    Serves: 6 

    • 3 eggs
    • 120ml milk
    • 3 tablespoons plain flour
    • 3 tablespoons milk
    • 6 slices panettone
    • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
    • For the syrup
    • 1/2 (400ml) tin condensed milk
    • 1/2 (400ml) tin sweeteed condensed milk

    1. In a bowl, combine eggs and 120ml milk. Gradually add the flour and stir till smooth. Set to one side.
    2. Mix 3 tablespoons milk and 1 tablespoon water and drizzle on the panettone slices.
    3. Melt the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip panettone slices in egg mixture.
    4. Fry the panettone slices till browned on both sides and degrease on kitchen paper.
    5. Heat condensed milk and sweetened condensed milk and drizzle over the French toast. Serve at once.
