Flambéed banana with ice cream

    A luscious boozy dessert if you like caramel, bananas and ice cream.

    Makes: 2 porções

    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 2 strips lemon peel
    • 300g caster sugar
    • 250ml orange juice
    • 2 ripe bananas, sliced lengthwise
    • 1 shot glass brandy cognac
    • ground cinnamon
    • 2 scoops ice cream

    1. Put the butter and lemon peel in frying pan and let butter melt over low heat.
    2. Add the sugar, stirring constantly, until it becomes caramel. Add the orange juice and cook mix until it reaches the syrup stage, about 110 C.
    3. Add bananas and coat caramel all around.
    4. Pour cognac over bananas and ignite. Flambé and gently tilt the pan while flambéing.
    5. When the alcohol has burned off, remove the bananas from pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve with ice cream.
