Mashed potatoes with carrots

    Different option for classic mashed potatoes. The carrot gives them a bright colour and gives them a slightly sweeter taste. It's also a good idea to make children eat vegetables.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 5 

    • 3 medium potatoes, peeled
    • 3 medium carrots, peeled
    • ½ tablespoon salt
    • 250ml milk
    • 1 tablespoon butter

    Method
    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Cut the potatoes and carrots into even pieces. Put them in a pan and cover with water. Add the salt and bring to the boil.
    2. Cook till tender, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and drain.
    3. Mash with milk and butter and salt to taste.
    4. Reheat briefly if necessary and serve.
