    Serves: 10 

    • 200g (7 oz) good quality plain chocolate
    • 125ml (4 fl oz) double cream
    • 50g (2 oz) butter
    • 3 tablespoons brandy

    Prep:20min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. In a saucepan over a low heat, melt chocolate, cream, butter and brandy together and stir until smooth. Allow to cool slightly before spreading liberally over cake.

    ...and indeed I did make it again! This is a simple but effective recipe that goes well as a topping on a cappuccino cake. I didn't add the brandy, it is very tasty without this and therefore suitable for all ages.  -  07 Aug 2011


    Wonderful! Wanted something a bit special but quick and easy to prepare, this is just the ticket. Managed to cover two cakes in about 30 minutes, sprinkled decorations on the top and left to chill in the fridge. I will definitely be making this again.  -  11 Jul 2011
