Apple porridge with banana and pecans

    This hearty breakfast is easy to make with quick cooking oats in the microwave. Serve topped with apple, banana and pecans to keep you full until lunchtime!

    Serves: 1 

    • 200ml milk, plus more to taste
    • 50g quick cooking oats
    • 1/2 apple, peeled and cut into pieces
    • 1/2 teaspoon sugar, or to taste
    • pinch of salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 2 tablespoons chopped pecans
    • 1/2 banana, sliced
    • 1/4 teaspoon honey, or to taste

    1. Combine milk, oats, apple, sugar, salt and cinnamon together in a microwave-safe bowl; cook on High for 2 minutes. Stir porridge well and add cold milk, if desired.
    2. Top with chopped pecans, banana slices and honey, to taste.
