Simple fairy cakes

    Young kids will have great fun making these easy fairy cakes. You can embellish them however you like!

    Ingredients
    Makes: 12 fairy cakes

    • 150g butter, softened
    • 150g caster sugar
    • pinch of salt
    • 3 eggs, room temperature
    • 150g self-raising flour

    Method
    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:35min 

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas 4. Line a muffin tin with 12 paper cases.
    2. Beat softened butter, sugar and salt together in a bowl until light and fluffy; add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
    3. Fold in flour until well combined; spoon mixture into paper cases, filling 3/4 full.
    4. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the middle of a cupcake comes out clean; cool fairy cakes on a wire rack.
