Cardamom figs with dried cranberries and orange

    This exotic fruit salad is a refreshing change from the ordinary. Canned figs are made special with a warm cardamom, orange and cranberry sauce.

    Serves: 4 

    • 2 (425g) cans green figs
    • 4 green cardamom pods
    • 2 tbsp dried cranberries
    • zest and juice of 1 orange

    1. Drain the syrup from 2 x 425g cans green figs into a small pan. Split 4 green cardamom pods and add them to the syrup with 2 tbsp dried cranberries and the grated zest and juice of 1 orange. Put on a high heat and boil for 1 minute. Meanwhile, divide the figs among four bowls. Spoon the hot syrup over the figs and serve.
