About this recipe: A few fresh green grapes combined with flaked almonds transform plain waffles into a special breakfast or brunch.

Serves: 4 

  • 4 waffles
  • 20g unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp flaked almonds
  • 200g seedless green grapes
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • squeeze of lemon juice

  1. Heat 4 waffles in a toaster or under the grill according to the pack instructions.
  2. Meanwhile, melt 20g unsalted butter in a frying pan and add 2 tbsp flaked almonds. Stir for a few seconds, then add 200g seedless green grapes. Cook, stirring, for 2 minutes or until the almonds smell nutty and are lightly browned.
  3. Add 1 tbsp sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice and stir for a few seconds or until the sugar dissolves to glaze the grapes. Serve the fruit and nuts on the waffles.
