Chicken and bacon farfalle

    Serves: 2 

    • small amount of chicken diced
    • chopped bacon
    • small red onion/ shallot
    • salt and pepper
    • parsley
    • garlic
    • double cream or creme fraiche
    • packet of farfalle pasta
    • vegetable oil

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Extra time:10min  ›  Ready in:30min 

    1. Chop the onion finely and place in a bowl, set aside.
    2. Meanwhile heat salted water to the boil and cook pasta until al dente.
    3. Chop the chicken into small diced pieces start cooking the chicken on a high heat with a small amount of oil; keep stirring until the chicken has started to go white and then turn the heat down to medium.
    4. Chop the bacon into small dice shapes and add with the onions, garlic and parsley to the pan. continue to cook till golden brown.
    5. Add cream/creme fraiche to the pan, and simmer for about 4-5 minutes.
    6. Drain pasta and add drained pasta to the frying pan and stir and check for seasoning
    7. Serve with salad, wedges, chips or bread.

    Used different ingredients. Added half double cream, and the rest creme fresh. Also didn't have any parsley so used basil instead.  -  21 Aug 2009


    I thought that this was ok,my husband liked it more than me,but it was the creme fraiche that put me off,will make it with double cream next time!  -  25 Sep 2009
