    About this recipe: This unique frosting is especially suited for a basic chocolate cake. Lightly toast the pecans in a dry frying pan beforehand for a deeper flavour.

    Serves: 12 

    • 250ml evaporated milk
    • 200g caster sugar
    • 3 egg yolks
    • 100g butter
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 100g desiccated coconut
    • 125g chopped pecans

    1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter and vanilla. Cook, stirring frequently, until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in coconut and pecans.
