Quick Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta

    Brussels are delicious when fried with bacon or pancetta. When you're busy in the kitchen at Christmas, this quick and flavourful side dish is a welcome time-saver.

    Serves: 6 

    • 75g pancetta cubes
    • 3 shallots, chopped
    • 500g Brussels sprouts, halved

    1. Cook the pancetta in a large frying pan over medium-high heat until crisp. Add the shallots and cook and stir until soft. Add the Brussels sprouts; cook and stir until the sprouts are browned, 7 to 10 minutes.


    You can substitute rashers of pancetta or streaky bacon for the pancetta cubes; simply dice them before cooking.

    Delicious!! This recipe was easy and tasty. I used bacon instead of pancetta, and I cut away the excess fat. I also added one clove of garlic. This side was just fabulous! My new veg go to!  -  19 Nov 2011
