    About this recipe: Brussels are delicious when fried with bacon or pancetta. When you're busy in the kitchen at Christmas, this quick and flavourful side dish is a welcome time-saver.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 75g pancetta cubes
    • 3 shallots, chopped
    • 500g Brussels sprouts, halved

    Method
    Prep:10min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Cook the pancetta in a large frying pan over medium-high heat until crisp. Add the shallots and cook and stir until soft. Add the Brussels sprouts; cook and stir until the sprouts are browned, 7 to 10 minutes.

    Tip:

    You can substitute rashers of pancetta or streaky bacon for the pancetta cubes; simply dice them before cooking.

    Delicious!! This recipe was easy and tasty. I used bacon instead of pancetta, and I cut away the excess fat. I also added one clove of garlic. This side was just fabulous! My new veg go to! - 19 Nov 2011

    Used different ingredients. Possibly add some garlic just to make them monumental. I used 1 teaspoon of the Lazy Garlic. - 12 Dec 2010
