About this recipe: This is a great recipe that I found in my Gran's recipe book. Judging from the weathered look of this recipe card, this was a family favourite.
I had to whisk the batter with an elecric beater to stop the butter forming little blobs. Note: Avoid pouring warm/hot melted butter into the egg - pour it into the cold milk first or the egg will cook. Mod: I added a splash of vanilla essence and used 3 desert spoons of sugar instead of 1 tbsp, then sprinkled sultanas on them as soon as the batter was in the pan, they went down a storm. - 20 Nov 2012
