Easy but still damn good chilli! Serve with rice.

Ingredients

1 red onion, finely sliced
2 tsp oil
Salt & pepper
1 (400g) tin chopped tomatoes
15 -20 dried red chillies (from a jar) chopped
1 (315g) pack of beef fillet steaks (2 steaks)
1 tbsp paprika
Water if needed

Preparation method

1. Heat half the oil in a non-stick frying pan and sear the steaks.
2. Remove from pan and season well.
3. Wipe the pan with a piece of kitchen towel and heat the remaining oil.
4. Fry the onion until the edges are slightly blackened.
5. Add the chillies and stir.
6. Add the tomatoes and stir.
7. Turn the heat down to it's lowest setting, slice the steak into thick strips and add to the pan. Sprinkle over the paprika.
8. Cover and simmer for 1 - 2 hours, adding water if necessary, until sauce has thickened to your liking.

    Tweak: souper Altered ingredient amounts:

My husband loved this recipe, I used fresh chillis where I think I should have used the dried as suggested as it was not hot enough and we also added some left over chirozo.
