Simple glazed roast ham

    This roast ham takes little effort to prepare, but still tastes delicious!

    Serves: 10 

    • 1 (2 to 3kg) unsmoked gammon joint, soaked overnight
    • 5 tablespoons prepared English mustard
    • 5 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
    • 2 tablespoons dark brown soft sugar

    1. Preheat the oven to 170 C / Gas mark 3. Pat the ham dry with kitchen roll.
    2. Place the ham in a shallow roasting tin. Score the fat in a criss-cross pattern. In a small bowl, mix together the mustard, honey or maple syrup and brown sugar. Coat the ham entirely with the glaze using a spoon or brush.
    3. Roast the ham uncovered for 2 hours in the preheated oven, or until heated through. Let it rest for about 15 minutes before carving to keep it from drying out.

    What is the extra 7 hours for?  -  08 Dec 2014


    Try using shredless marmalade as a glaze simple but great results every time. Use recipe as given just substitute marmalade for the glaze.  -  18 Jul 2009


    Love this Recipe Easy As Pie. Try Adding some fresh Pineapple Rounds and the glaze ...Adds great flavour.... The Reason for the extra 7Hrs Is for Overnight Soaking if needed..  -  16 Dec 2014
