Cranberry cocktail meatballs

    These delicious little meatballs are a great party nibble at Christmas.

    Serves: 20 

    • 1kg mince
    • 100g breadcrumbs
    • 2 eggs, beaten
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 3 tablespoons ketchup
    • For the sauce
    • 400g cranberry sauce
    • 400g barbecue sauce
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

    1. Preheat oven to 180 C / Gas mark 4.
    2. Mix together the mince, breadcrumbs, eggs, soy sauce, pepper, garlic powder and ketchup. Form into small balls and bake for 30 minutes.
    3. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the cranberry sauce, barbecue sauce and lemon juice. Simmer and stir until smooth. Add meatballs and simmer for I hour. Serve warm.

    I made with the frozen meatballs. I mixed together the sauce in the crockpot, threw in the meatballs, and set on low all day. They were fantastic! We had baked potatoes and green beans with it and it was wonderful.  -  22 Jan 2008  (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)


    These meatballs were really good! I changed the sauce just a bit, less bbq sauce more cranberry sauce and orange juice instead of lemon.
