Gingerbread icing for biscuits

    This delicious, thick icing is a perfect topping for gingerbread biscuits, cupcakes or even on a gingerbread house! It makes enough for 12 average size cookies.

    Serves: 12 

    • 60g icing sugar
    • 1 tablespoon skimmed milk
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
    • 1/4 teaspoon ginger

    1. Place the icing sugar in a bowl, and stir in the milk until smooth. Mix in the cinnamon, cloves and ginger until thoroughly blended. Spread on biscuits of your choice.

    Good basic icing recipe, set well on gingerbread cookies. Runny enough for effective decorating!  -  25 Dec 2009


    I made this and it was really nice, although I only have whole cloves, I crushed around 4,and added a lid's worth of Orange essence. I wouldn't say it was a thick consistency as is described in the title.  -  24 Oct 2016
