Anyone who likes poppy seeds will wnjoy these biscuits! Sprinkle some sugar on them while they are warm or make a runny white icing and sprinkle some additional poppy seeds on top.
Altered ingredient amounts. When making the second batch I used flour under the juice glass instead of sugar, as the others were a bit sweet. I will also use less suger the next time I make these, as they were a little too sweet for me. Will maybe try some with almonds. - 02 Apr 2009
These biscuits, were so nice but a little sweet. I ended up with more than the 24 yield stated, which I think is a plus. Will definately make these again. - 02 Apr 2009
I was looking for a cookie recipe to use up some extra egg yolks I had in the refrigerator. I doubled the recipe and used half butter/half margarine. Also, I only used half the amount of poppy seeds, and that seemed to be plenty. This was a light, delicious little cookie. However, I did find it to be a bit too crumbly. Upon my first bite, the whole thing practically shattered! Did I flatten it too thinly? - 18 Jun 2002 (Review from Allrecipes US | Canada)
