Simple yummy sponge cake

    This is a simple sponge cake that can be made in no time at all with only three ingredients. What have you got to lose? It's easy! And quick! And yummy!

    Serves: 4 

    • 3 eggs
    • 100g caster sugar
    • 85g self-raising flour

    Prep:5min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
    2. Grease a 20 or 23cm round cake tin.
    3. In a medium bowl, whip together the eggs and caster sugar until fluffy. Fold in flour. Pour into the prepared tin.
    4. Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the top of the cake springs back when lightly pressed. Cool in the tin over a wire rack.
