Shred and wash/drain cabbage. Heat a frying pan to high heat and add oil. Fry onion for approximately one minute; add chilli flakes and stir. Next add cabbage and garlic; stir well, quickly cover with tight fitting lid and turn down the heat to very low. Leave to cook for 5 minutes (cabbage should be still crunchy, or cook a little longer if preferred). Stir and serve.
This was great, although half a teaspoon of chilli flakes was plenty for me! I made it with red cabbage, and it worked really well. Made a fab change from all those red cabbage recipes with apple. Will definitely make this again. - 29 Dec 2011
