About this recipe:A cherry crisp using sour cherries that has an oaty crunch topping. This is delicious warm from the oven with custard or ice cream. Fresh, frozen or tinned cherries may be used.
625g sour (morello) cherries, stones removed
300g caster sugar
4 tablespoons plain flour
200g plain flour
80g porridge oats
150g dark brown soft sugar

Preheat the oven to 190 C / Gas 5.
In a large bowl, combine cherries, 300g caster sugar and 4 tablespoons flour. Pour into 22x33cm baking dish. In a medium bowl, combine remaining flour, oats and brown sugar. Rub in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over cherries.
Bake in preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until topping is golden brown.
