About this recipe: This recipe is just thrown together but it is really nice. I was a bit sceptical at first because I'm not a mustard lover and even though you can taste it, it's not overpowering it does just blend in with everything else. My kids love em.

Serves: 9

  • 450g (1 lb) mince
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp English mustard
  • 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg white

Prep:10min  ›  Cook:25min  ›  Ready in:35min

  1. Finely chop the onion and garlic then in a large bowl or food mixer mix everything together. Pull off balls and shape into patties (i can usually get 9 nice size burgers).
  2. Shallow fry for 15 min; keep turning to prevent burning.

Alternative cooking methods

Oven cook for 20-25 min turning once, or grill for 15-20 min turning once.

The flavor was fine but the meat was too loose with the fillers. I think the addition of the egg white just added too much liquid in the mix. I chilled the patties before cooking to solidify them but they still fell apart upon cooking. - 08 Feb 2015

added hole grain mustard instead, kids loved them - 22 Mar 2013

mine did break ap slightly but it's the taste that counts and they were very tasty. - 17 Sep 2010
