This recipe was given to me by my sister, who got it from a Hungarian lady in 1961.
this was lovely an heart warming as a meal. so easy too which is always good! i did however have to add more than the 500ml of water even before the potatoes were added. that was simmering at the lowest my cooker goes? did anyone else have that problem? or find how the added red wine went with it added? - 08 Mar 2012
Something else. Added a robust red wine when cooking. I wonder why the recipe does not include wine? I haven't eaten it yet so perhaps there is a good reason! - 26 Feb 2010
Really tasty and yet so simple. The beef just melt in your mouth. Will be definitely cooking this again. - 23 Sep 2009
