I made a version recipe without the onion soup and soy sauce. I just simply used water and a stock pot. The meat just fell apart. It was cooked to perfection. A winner for the whole family. I am stuffed and mouth is watering wanting more. Definitely worth cooking a joint.of beef in slow cooker. You wont get nicer!!! - 08 Feb 2016

Didn't have onion soup powder so I used a couple of sachets of Tomato Cup-a-Soup, Some white Peppercorns, juniper berries, bay and coriander leaf, a squeeze of garlic puree (in absence of a real onion), a vegetable oxo cube and the soy sauce. It's in the pot now so we'll see how it is tomorrow. Incidentally I did not seal the joint, I put it in raw assuming this is better for juice penetration in the slow cooker. - 10 May 2016
