Slow cooker pasta Bolognese

    This recipe was cooked in a slow cooker for about 6 hours. Pasta was added last half hour.

    Serves: 4 

    • 500g minced steak
    • 1 tsp minced garlic
    • 1 onion, diced
    • 1/2 red pepper, diced
    • 1 stick celery, chopped
    • 1 large carrot, diced
    • 500g jar chunky vegetable pasta sauce
    • 400g tin diced tomatoes
    • 1 tbsp beef stock powder
    • 500ml water
    • 1 tsp mixed herbs
    • black pepper to taste
    • 160g rotini pasta
    • Parmesan cheese

    Prep:15min  ›  Cook:6hr  ›  Ready in:6hr15min 

    1. Place all ingredients, except pasta and parmesan, in slow cooker, stirring to break up mince. Cook for about 5½ hours on auto.
    2. Stir in pasta in slow cooker in last half hour and serve with parmesan cheese.

    Omitted some ingredients and added others. Nice and easy, no fuss.  -  03 Jun 2013


    I have just made this for tonight's dinner, went down well with the family. Great recipe nice and easy - swapped the mixed herbs for oregano as I hadn't got any in my cupboard. Also used more pasta than stated and I cooked it first and stirred it through at the end.  -  23 Mar 2017
