About this recipe:I received this recipe while living in New Zealand with a friend. His wife prepared a batch of these moist muffins for him. I 'sampled' so many that the next time, she doubled the recipe so there were plenty for both of us.
125g plain flour
100g caster sugar
1/2 teaspoon bicarb of soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 kiwi fruit, peeled and chopped
85g raisins or sultanas

In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients. In another bowl, beat the egg, milk and butter. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold in kiwi fruit and raisins. Fill paper-lined muffin cases 3/4 full. Bake at 220 C / Gas 7 for 15-18 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack.
While these muffins were very easy to make, I was a little disappointed with the bland taste. I decided to finish off with a brown sugar topping. I don't think I will be making these again. - 01 May 2013
